With the growing of photoelectric industry, many imaging and digital display products are developing with the trend of ultra brightness, ultra- definition, ultra-area and ultra-precise structure, and consequently put higher requirements on the materials used by the photoelectric industry. For example, the continuous development and application of excellent homogenized materials of stable refraction rate, extreme high density and purity and high transparency.
Precision optical materials have the following main features:
(1) High density and purity; normally, the figures are above 99.99%, and the density is close to large block of materials; the internal structure is compact, with little vapor or air absorbed; the internal and external surfaces of the material are almost free of organic and inorganic suspended substances
(2) Homogeneous and excellent optical properties. The optic parameter n and k rarely changes almost in the whole range of vapour deposition, and they are easy to use; in the scope of spectrum where the materials are used, they keep high transparency and the extinction coefficient is as low as possible; therefore, the optic parameters won’t change with the passing of time in vapour deposition. And for high-end anti-reflecting films and interference filters, you cannot ignore any tiny loss or parameter change
(3) Good mechanical and physical properties. The materials cannot evaporate not only on glass and other crystal materials, but on plastics, providing excellent bonding strength and precise surface.
